International Buyers/Traders Beware !! Business Nature and Pratice in Sialkot, Pakistan (June 27th, 2006)
Becareful when you are trying to source for products from some part of the world where the culture and business could be different from where you are. From example shown in http://sedaninternational.info/. The business owner of Sedan International in Sialkot Pakistan, actually admits that he is willing to trick in order to obtain more money including :
1. issue invoice to secure order without the actual ability to produce the goods ( his local ethics : can increase price later on )
2. make promises without any intention to keep them ( ethics : say something just to clam the buyer down, no need to do what he said )
3. when there are problems, just walk away ( ethics : forget about previous commitment, just leave )
4. when not sure, just walk away ...
5. after buyers paid the advance and not getting any goods, raise the price since the buyer is desperate ..
Beware of the cultural differences. These are actually many years business men, they think it is perfectly Normal and OK to act that way. Think twice even if we meet a 'good' person or a 'good' company, their normal pratice is just to walk away from you after getting what they want from you, your money !
