New Native 64-Bit Version of dtSearch® Engine for Win & .NET (November 27th, 2007)
New release offers 64-bit developer API access and enhanced Asian language supportNew 64-bit version. The new release includes a native 64-bit version of the dtSearch Engine for Win & .NET (for .NET 2.0/3.0) for developers to integrate into web-based and other applications. The 64-bit version provides full API access to dtSearch’s terabyte indexer and search functionality, file format and database support (including SQL BLOB data).
International language enhancements. dtSearch products include international language support through Unicode, covering hundreds of international languages. The new version adds improved searching of Chinese, Japanese and Korean text presented without spaces between words. The new version also offers improved developer API integration with third-party international language morphological analyzers like those from Basis Technology (www.basistech.com).
Product line overview. Terabyte indexer; file parser/converters. All dtSearch products can index over a terabyte of text in a single index, as well as create and simultaneously search an unlimited number of indexes. Indexed search time is typically less than a second, even across terabytes of data.
Along with the terabyte indexer, all dtSearch products generally share the same feature set:
· over two dozen indexed, unindexed, full-text and fielded data search options
· display of web-ready content (HTML, PDF, XSL/XML, etc.) with highlighted hits and with all images, links and formatting intact
· built-in HTML converters for hit-highlighted display of other popular file types (MS Office, OpenOffice, Vista XML Paper Specification (.xps), ZIP, etc.)
· distributed or federated search options, with integrated display of local and remote content
Spider. The product line also embeds the dtSearch Spider, providing support for:
· public sites, secure content HTTPS, password-accessible sites, and forms-based authentication
· searching of web-based content to any specified level of horizontal or vertical depth
· searching of static content (HTML, PDF, XSL/XML, etc.) and dynamic content (ASP.NET, MS CMS, SharePoint, etc.) with highlighted hits and with all images, links and formatting intact
· integrated relevancy-ranking of Spidered and non-Spidered content (all with highlighted hits)
Search options. Indexed, unindexed, fielded and full-text data search options include: fuzziness adjustable from 0 to 10 (to sift through typographical and spelling errors), synonym/concept/thesaurus (through a built-in thesaurus and/or through user-defined synonym rings), boolean (and/or/not), phrase, phonic, wildcard, bilateral proximity, directed proximity, stemming, numeric range, natural language/vector-space relevancy ranking, variable term weighting, positional scoring, field-based relevancy ranking, data classification and filtering objects, special forensics search options, and Unicode support for hundreds of international languages (including the new Asian language enhancements).
dtSearch Engine. The dtSearch Engine for Win & .NET, now in native 64-bit and 32-bit versions, lets C++, Java, COM and .NET developers add dtSearch terabyte indexer and file format support to web-based and other applications. For example, the dtSearch Engine includes a choice of an ADO.NET API (including a native 64-bit .NET 2.0/3.0 version), a Java API, a C++ API and a COM API for indexing and searching SQL-type databases, along with associated BLOB data. The dtSearch Engine also provides a .NET API (including a .NET 2.0/3.0 version) for the dtSearch Spider. The dtSearch Engine comes in a Linux version for C++ and Java developers.
Other dtSearch products. dtSearch Desktop with Spider instantly searches files on a PC. dtSearch Network with Spider searches across a network. Both instantly search and display with highlighted hits a wide variety of file types, including email messages along with the full text of email attachments. Through the Spider, both applications can also add web-residing content to a local or network search.
dtSearch Web with Spider quickly publishes a large volume of instantly searchable data to an Internet or Intranet site. The Spider expands the scope of the searchable database to static and dynamic content on other sites.
dtSearch Publish offers easy publishing of an instantly searchable document collection to CD, DVD, portable harddrive, and the like. The product can also mirror an existing web site on CD/DVD.
