Yes, England did manage to save the last test match, but the bottom-line remains that India won the series 1-0, after a long gap of 21 years. The three match series was fiercely battled and most of the time India was on top and the series victory is a testimony to that. Kevin Pietersen scored a fighting century in the last day of the final test at the Oval to save the match for this team.
