being marketed on the internet is aiming to make condoms a laughing matter. The Condom, by

the award-winning Canadian designer and cartoonist Marin Darmonkow, is a collection of

full color cartoons featuring the humble condom as a central character. The humor is a mix of

double entendres, puns and visual gags. And while making people smile is the goal, Darmonkow

says keeping it inexpensive and within the bounds of good taste were also very important.

The downloadable ebook is only USD3.99 and can be purchased online.

“People hear ‘condom’ and automatically start thinking x-rated,” Darmonkow says, “but in these

days of safe sex, I wanted to help make the condom easy to talk about. And what better way than

through humor?” Everyone knows it well – it’s healthy to laugh: you get rid of built-up energy and

stress. Darmonkow points out the cartoons are “good, clean fun.” “We’ve come a long way since

sneaking into the drugstore or gas station rest room to buy condoms. These days – they are a

pretty mainstream item. I hope my e-book will continue this trend.”

In order to reach as many people as possible, The Condom is being marketed online as an e

book. Traditional publishing and distribution methods are time consuming and expensive.

Darmonkow decided to take advantage of the many opportunities on the internet to self publish.
